Warborn's story is one of trial and triumph. He is a warrior who has fought his way back from homelessness on the streets of his hometown of Charlotte, NC, to becoming an inspiration and encouragement to many who have heard his story and his music He is a lyricist and storyteller whose sound is a fusion of hard hitting beats and aggressive delivery balanced out with soulful vocalists and a mix of neo-soul, jazz, and classically influenced instrumentation.
His fans have come to love the raw emotion that comes through his lyrics and delivery, packing a powerful punch that stirs the emotions and challenges his audience to see beyond themselves. Warborn has always been a fighter that has used his art to wrestle with the issues and complexities of life as well as to motivate his audience to face and conquer anything that may stand in their way. He is a voice for the voiceless, his music is a soundtrack to life, and his life experiences make him and his music very transparent, relevant, and relatable.
Warborn began writing songs and poetry at the age of 9. His father, also a gospel artist, introduced him to many different genres of music, all of which spoke to him in different ways, making Warborn an artist that has shown fearless versatility in his music. He went from a smart young boy, raised in a christian home in a rough neighborhood, struggling to live up to his faith and the high expectations set for him, to facing homelessness, alcoholism, drug abuse.
His story could have ended there, but he fought back against the odds to reclaim his life, faith, and dignity! Positive change is his motivation in both his life and music. Warborn has been blessed to share the stage with Grammy award winning and nominated artist such as Da Truth, Dae Lee, and John P. Kee and national recording artists such as Derek Minor, This'l, Omega Sparx, B. Cooper, Swoope, Uncle Reece, and many more. When he isn't rocking a stage, Warborn loves performing his music in adult and juvenile correctional facilities as well as community events because his heart and his music has and always will be for the people! He released his first project in 2010 entitled The Enlistment followed by mixtapes in 2012 King's Court Vol. 1.
He was featured on Lethal Lyricists, a mixtape created, hosted, and distributed by Coast 2 Coast djs. Warborn was also heavily featured on the JustHis League's 2015 album release Suit Up and the 2016 Free Comic Book Day Mixtape. His latest album, released in September of 2017, is entitled Tears Full of Hope, and has been receiving raving reviews. Warborn is currently touring and working on his next project due for release in summer 2018.
