The bond uniting Christians as individuals and groups with each other and with Jesus is described as communion. Without the sacrifice of Jesus there wouldn't be any sense of bond uniting our hearts with God The Father. He's done it! Paid the Price! Ran The Race! He's taken everything on that cross so we can have through Jesus Christ the sweet communion with the Father. The veil of The Temple has been torn in half, just like the body of Christ. There is access now to the "Holy of Holies". We can enter into the presence of God without a High priest like in the Old Testament times. Hebrews: 9:7 says "But only the high priest entered the inner room, and that only once a year, and never without blood, which he offered for himself and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance." But we now have a Great High Priest, Jesus Christ!!! Who has paid the penalty so we need not wait an entire year for our sins to be atoned for, but everyday we can come into the presence of our Father and enjoy communion. Doesn't that excite you? Doesn't it not make you feel inside a sense of "Yo I'm in the presence of the Almighty God, I can come as I am, filthy, unclean, thirsty, desperate, broken and He waits to hear my voice"!? He waits for us to commune with Him. To pour out our hearts! Then another act of Communion is, we have the symbolic Bread and Wine.
Where we remember the Body of our King. Our Savior. Our Deliverer! The Bread representing His Body torn just like the veil and the Wine where His Blood was poured out for The WHOLE of HUMANITY! Every person on this earth Jesus died for. The good. The bad. Different Races and classes. Before the Father sent Jesus down into this dark world the Father knew what sins we would commit, and so did Jesus. He knew what we were going to do today and tomorrow. What we've already done. But He still sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ. Because He saw what we could be. He saw our potential and saw that we could be instruments of righteousness. That we could be a people who's hearts and lives could be transformed through this "Great Communion" with Him!! He knows the "beginning from the end and the end from the beginning". But loves us still and will always love us with a love that has no boundaries or breaking point!! That's why we celebrate and take the Bread and Wine, to remember! Yes, but also to celebrate!!
John 19:28 says, Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, "I am thirsty". A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus' lips. When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished". With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. IT IS FINISHED!! We are no longer slaves to sin (or at least we don't have to be). Isn't that worth celebrating? This is what communion is all about. It's about coming deeper into the heart of God and celebrating the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. He's Alive Today!! He's brought us to life!! Come and partake in the feast of Love!!
Are you ready to Commune with the one who loved you first, and is still madly in love with you now? Its all down to us, lets redeem our time and Commune with Him NOW!! He's waiting!! Let's celebrate and Commune with the "King Of Kings And Lord of Lord's, Yeshua!!"
